Hello
Hello everybody/Hola a todos

Everybody seems to be starting a blog these days (the latest addition I have seen is Inés, with her lembranzas-ines.blogspot.com). I've been told you get visits from the strangest places, places you are not even aware exist, which sounds like fun.

Today I'm heading off to the Atlantic seaboard for a few days, Portugal or more exactly Vilanova de Cerveira. A word of warning about the Portuguese Costa Verde beaches: don't swim in them, and if you go surfing, tie yourself to your surfboard if possible. You're better off swimming in rock pools, or if you're in the North-West Iberia area, try to drop in at what is the world's best beach according to the Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2007/feb/16/beach.top10).

What do I imagine myself writing about in this blog? Of the top of my head, I could mention Galicia, Portugal, the Peneda-Geres National Park (which is like a Lost World), Scotland, wild animals, birds of prey, food/cookery, and literature. In the process, I will be trying to plug my own book, A Idade da Auga, and also talking about other interesting works/blogs I might have read.
